Visit to Birmingham, NEC

Posted on 24 November 2010

Hello again!
A week ago i wanted to post but like always the time!! The time!! That never seems to be enough. But here I am to share with you my visit to the Cake International that was held in Birmingham. Was the first time that I visit such a big event and it was a wonderful and great time. There were many exhibitors where you can find the most renowned brands , professionals and suppliers of all the cake decorating world . I had the opportunity to meet lovely people and see the latest in tools and materials in cake decorating and a lot more.
Even if the exhibition was held for three days I was only able to visit it for two days. I am already planning for next year to stay all the three days! 🙂
The first day i visited the stands that took most of my interest. The second day I tried to visit most of the other parts of the fair. Some stands were very crowded others not so much. The area of competition was very impressive, cakes of all size, forms, colors and shapes could be found and some of these creations were just amazing!!
It was nice to meet Marcela Capó from Argentina with her wonderful books, videos and magazines with great tips for designs inclusive step by step instructions. Elaine Thomas, the winner and gold medalist in Sculpted Novelty cakes didn’t have a stand but she was demonstrating how to model THE CUDDLY RABBIT ( very cute) . Tal Tsafrir, was showing her magic books and modelling. Also Debbie Brown with her wonderful books and creations was present. Lindy Smith and Karen Davies had stands with full of a great variety of tools, materials and designs as only they know to do. These two days were incredible interesting and helpful to see new technics, trends and tools. I met some great people and maybe new contacts. Even though two days were tiring at the end of the day it did feel very satisfied 🙂
Following I post some of my personal impressions even I did make a lot of pictures more.
Sweetest Regards
Claudia.

We did it! Workshop 25-09-10

Posted on 12 November 2010

Hi everyone!

It has been very so long since I wrote my last post. The simple reason: a lot new things happening, a lot to organize and to do.  But finally I found the time to write to all of you J

I would like to start to thank to the wonderful ladies who participated in our modeling course, to Pita from Dulce Decoración, a great teacher. It was a wonderful, very productive and funny time.

Personally I have learned a lot. I was happy with my final product, but there is still something missing for the perfect doll J. Pita would say: you can only get perfection with the training.

Here I share with you some pictures of the course and of my final products. I hope you like it (soon  I will  put my little baby topper on a cake to celebrate something very special with my family….. surprise!!)

Sweet Regards.

Claudia.
